Which batteries would it be legal to race with, located in the passengere compartment, without a box?
Hawker genesis?
Hawker oddesy?
Dyna batt?
Braille?
Does it have to be a dry cell or can it just be sealed?
Thanks

I asked a track inspector about this and he said that any battery located inside the passanger compartment needs to be in a sealed battery box or have a firewall put in the back.. I'd love to just put my optima gel-cell in the back and call it a day.. Let me know if anyone has heard anything different about it..
Also the NHRA rulebook doesnt name any exceptions for dry and/or sealed batteries..

yea, i just read the rule book... your right. But, the track inspector at capital raceway: the lady one, told me that dry cell batteries didnt need a box. Oh well, ill just have to find someone to build me a compact box, that will fit in my wheel well.

If you have an import you can get through tech inspection with a gas can for a seat at Capitol.. They dont check **** there.. A friend of mine has a normal acid battery in the back of his crx thats in a plastic non-sealed box and they have never checked it..
Go to either MIR or Englishtown and then youll see what will pass and what wont.. I have my battery sitting on my front crossmember and held in with zip-ties and MIR and Englishtown are the only tracks to check to make sure its secure..
