Default My (D4) is flashing!!!

Can someone tell me what I need to do? When I start my car and put it in 1st gear it will not go. I have to manual shift and its a automatic.

What year car? It might be your transmisson going. If it is a V6 then you might be covered under the Honda Warrenty

I had this same problem when we installed a kill switch through a databus line (ignition) rather than the fuel. No sure if you have a kill switch or not.

It is a 1992. In the manual it says D4 indicator light in the instrument panel also serves a second function. If the light flashes while driving (in any gear range) it indicates a possible malfunction in the transmission.

there is a trans controller on that car,it is next to the ecm on the pass. side floor.very common problem for them to go bad.

Yeah, I remember this topic being covered extensively several months ago. Try searching under 'D4' in the archived content. You should get some useful info. Bottom line though, I think your slushbox is about to die

Thanks so much for the information. We bought a service manual and a speed sensor. And my husband will be checking out the TCM to see if thats the problem.
