Default Cable trans conversion

anyone ever do a cable trans conversion in a eg/ek platform i want to do one but don't want to use hasport's kit cuz its $225 and doesn't seem like its worth the money to me. i know i can fab a bracket up to get my clutch slave cylinder to work the cluth pivot arm, but i need to know if the mounts for the trans are the same? i know i can't use the front passenger side torque arm and i know that the hasport kit doesn't seem to use it either. why i want to do this is cuz i have a jdm lsd equipped cable trans. this will be going into an ek.

no they do make a reverse kit, hydro to cable. Namely for 5th gen civics that came with hydro trannies. First Gen b16as with the cable tranny can be had for lots cheaper than the 2nd gen so they are becoming a popular item.

exactly what mps said is the reason, i'm doing a swap on my car soon and i have a cable trans i got for free off of 1st gen b16 its a jdm motor and the trans has a lsd already thats why i want to use it. plus if i nuke the trans for any reason i can get another cable trans pretty cheap as compared to a hydro setup.

but the hydro tranny was supposed to shift better, smoother and whatnot, what kind of effect will the cable tranny give you going backwords? will it feel or be any worse or less effective then the hydro tranny?

its not like the shift linkage is cable shifted like on a dsm, so i really don't think that the cable trans will be that much different than a hydro trans in terms of feel or effectiveness.
