On the underside of the hood, or the outside top?

Whip the entire hood with goo-gone two or three times and wash it. See if the problem still reoccurs... sometimes the car wash detergent doesn't get rid of all the nonpolar molecules (oil is a nonpolar molecule) .

thanks for the replys, i found the problem though. I had a faulty dipstick and when my oil pressure would raise i guess that oil would spout out of the/around the dipstick hole area and roll from the bottom of the inside (engine bay area) onto the lip of the hood and then from there wind would blow oil back on the hood causing the streak...i got it all fixed but the next day i totalted my car on a back road(went around a corner at an average speed for me but didnt factor in the road being wet) the cars frame is twisted and most of the finders are done with but i might have somthing that someone might be interested in tho, thanks for your replies

Yeah, I think im clinicacly* depressed now, Right before i had the accident we switched to liability because full coverage was wayyy too much, so i get no money beyond what i sell off the car when i work up the nerve, i gonna try to get an old honda beater that can get me to school and to work(funds for a new lude ) and then ill just go from there. Man I have so many bad feelings when i wake up in the morning, but this expeirence taught me about so much in alot of things, so when the day(long ways away) comes that i get my next lude, I will treat her like a Queen....I guess im lucky in the sense that im not physically damaged and can plan for another one in the Lonnnng run..All i can say is be safe, rain is no joke(hit a wetbump in the middle of a curve), and FULL coverage isnt too much, you never know when that split second might come, thanks for your replies
P.S.: anyone else have any kind of car totaling experiences?(i know people have of coarse, but it would be interesting to hear is someone else totaled their pride and joy in this post) Is it not normal to be really really really depressed?

Omg, HuUUUgGGEEE dilema, OK, heres the situation, i had the car for 3 weeks, and when i first got it, my mom put the car on Full coverage, ok about a week before the accident , my mom switched to liablility, BUT she had already payed the first months full coverage bill. the insurance company is saying that it canceled and went to liablilty the day she called even though theoretically she was covered for thaat month with full coverage since we payed the full coverage bill for the month. Man o Man, does neone have ne idea if were down for the count or if there still a chance to get some insurance out of it.....i think the agents r lieing, but it would be good if someone here could give me some input...ne ideas? thanks
Mike

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by BigMike406 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">...i had the car for 3 weeks, and when i first got it, my mom put the car on Full coverage, ok about a week before the accident , my mom switched to liablility, BUT she had already payed the first months full coverage bill. the insurance company is saying that it canceled and went to liablilty the day she called even though theoretically she was covered for thaat month with full coverage since we payed the full coverage bill for the month...</TD></TR></TABLE>

unless they were going to refund some of the first month's coverage (which i seriously doubt...) i would imagine that you would still be covered for that first month. it may SAY that you only have liability now, but if you paid for a month of full coverage and you were still in that month...it seems like you should be covered

i dunno man...good luck
