What B swap?
Most B16 CRX's are pretty much even with relatively stock 5.0's around here.
Oh and Mustangs aren't muscle cars. They’re pony cars.
Also, 5.0 Fox bodies are some of the best platforms for drag racing, not to mention one of the best bang for the buck ways to go fast.

Off the line I think the 5.0 will trump, but down the stretch I think the HF can hang due to the whole weight/power ratio concept. It also depends the gearing the HF is throwing down and the exact B-Swap. What year 5.0, do you know?
::flame suit equipped::i am 100% "honda-love" but..having said that..i used to own an 85 GT(back around1989-90ish)totally stock(came with roller lifters and decent cam that year) except for a few minor tweaks(K&N drop-in filter..everything else stock)i would bet money it would stomp any B swapped HF if driven by the exact same driver of both cars..just my .02(but i'd love to see that last statement proved wrong

fox body like he was talkin about have 320 hp, and they arent very heavy, with slicks they run 13s he would beat you if it was a regular 5.0. But keep tuning and you will have him

i beat one 5.0 1992 on the hwy
i was on 4 gear at 8000 rpm getting ready to shift to 5 gear when i was on his right rear panel by this time he was already on 5 gear
but i was driving a teg
also race a v8 firebird from the line he took me for about half car
but on the run we tie

I would have to say that the 5.0 would win, yet only by a slim margin. My freind has a crx with a B16A, with a few mods, and pulls on them easy. My CRX with a B18A1 with I/H/E gives them a good run for the money. Yet, either way i would much rather have a B series CRX.

Fox bodies do not have no where near 320 hp, try 225. Well it all depends the fox body 5.0 your talking about. GT convertibles are hell of heavy while the hatchbacks and coupes are really light. Im betting on the CRX if its a near to stock convertible but Im with the 5.0 if its a slightly modded coupe or hatchback 5.0

My old crx (si with B16a1, lightened flywheel, and head back exhaust, beat to sh*t before i even owned it) could take one easy.... i beat a camaro V8, neck 2 neck and pulled on him in 4th.... and also a b-series motor could mean a type-r, which if put in a 1700 lbs Crx and equipped with wings could fly
Wings would make the car 'not-cool'. I've watched GSRs' with intakes put 5.0 automatic coupes and hatchbacks to shame. These with filters and dual flowmasters usually. But I will admit that a 5.0 with very little headwork and bolt-ons can put down some serious numbers on the track and the dynameter. If mpg wins races, the CR-X owns! ahha  - Darrell
Unless you guys are pulling mid/low 14's in the 1/4 in your B swapped CRX would probably go down.
My bone stock 1986 Mustang, a bad year, only made 205 HP, went 14.2's. My dad's 1987 Convertible went 14.08 BONE STOCK.
I've only seen one gutted out, down to NOTHING LS swapped CRX that went 13's without a lot of other mods, but seriously, this car was down to the sheetmetal EVERYWHERE.
If this is a 94-95 5.0, the CRX would probably squeak out a victory, because these are USUALLY high 14/low 15 second cars.
Any of the Cobra's in 93-95 also had the 5.0L motor, and would stomp a mudhole in the ricer's ***. I'd love to see that race!

I have a old ROAD/TRACK magazine and they tested the mustang gt 5.0 and it said 14.6 and 0-60 in 6sec flat. I"ve noticed you said bone stock, but when are you ever going to race a bone stock mustang. Because I don't know any that are bone stock. And the same thing applies to a b-series swap in any hatch/rex someone always has some bolt ones. I think it would be a damn close race.
I have a B16a in a 91 CRX. The motor is stock with a cheap intake and a p.o.s. cat back. I raced a "five point slow" and shamed him. I can't say that I can respect a butt-stain with a 5.slow. Down with the FORD'S!!!!!!!!!!!
i dunno on the year but if we're talkin mid 90's i've outran quite a few, stock or filter equipped...but so is my b16
Now if I wanted to go fast in a staright line, I'd get a 5.0 w/so much tourqe it would rip your head in the back seat...which is what my friends slow mustang could do
