Need some help evaluating a questionable leakdown test result
Had 1141 in for a checkup. Part of that included compression and leakdown to see how she's faring as the miles go on (daily VTEC).
Compression is still **** at 220-220-224-220 (10K since last valve adjust). However, mech said leakdown was 'perfect' (none) on 2 & 4, but losing 'a little' on 1 & 3. I pressed for details, but didn't get a rate (e.g. # of pounds down in x amount of time). He said he could hear it escaping through the intake on 1 & 3, and it was not holding it too long. Uh oh.
Based on HT searches, is 5% spec for B18C5?
:edit: I'm guessing the guy I talked to did not run the test, and does not know much. Maybe it wasn't bad, so they didn't give specifics. I'll go hit the owner back Monday and demand to know what's going on, then either get a re-test, or my money back. Ha Ha, leakdown and no %. WTFE. These guys must just be consumed with work, they are really slipping. They used to be good.
