LSD owners.... How does the car feel after?
Finally went ahead and purchased a long overdue Quaife for my car. Haven't put everything together yet, but was just wondering what people with LSD's have to say about them and any input. I know that alot of cars I was following at SpeedTrials were able to get on the gas a full second or so before I could exit the corners. I've heard of the car behaving completely different, but wanted to hear some firsthand stories.
Thanks, Thom

my quaife is very subtle, it doesn't make any noise, or have a choppy engagement, but you do notice the difference it makes in any corner. It's subtle yet huge, i guess. it allows you alot more flexibility with throttle induced car control--i still don't find myself flooring it out of corners (prob b/c my line is sloppy) but i do find that i can use throttle modulation or partial throttle inputs to effectively control the car, especially at or close to high g apexes.
coupled with the right tires at first it'll feel like a totally different car. eventually you'll get used to it and not even remember what it was like to drive an open diff.
off the line, dumping the clutch at 3500 rpm and there's barely a peep out of my azenis. not that i launch all that much (a/x starts, sometimes) but i can see how a quaife would benefit a drag racer greatly.

I have a tranny from Accord Type R and it is great. You will love corners and going on roundabouts. This is the place when people let gas off to not fall out of their lane and you will push it then
Just grab the steering wheel harder and enjoy.

I'm considering getting an LSD soon, b/c I'm sick of having just my front right tire wear down after driving it hard!
I may be givin the Phantom Grip a shot....how hard is it to install/replace a diff?

After reading this, now im considering getting a lsd tranny. I been riding around with an h23 for a while now and I dont like it one bit.
I want to see what my h22 can do with an h22 lsd tranny. I guess I'm gonna start saving up

Im boosting right now with the h23 tranny. I'm pretty happy with it. I just wanted to feel the accelaration with the all motor setup. Maybe i'll take out the turbo kit out for the hell of it and use the h22 tranny

I can shine some light on LSD from a drag racing point of view. I have the M2B4 tranny and with decent tires I can cut 2.1x 60' all day, driving my brothers 5th gen which is open diff. I can only manage 2.3x on average and 2.2 on occasions. Also like stated above, when comeing out of a turn and you gun it you notice the differences compared to an open diff. tranny. Either way you can't go wrong purchasing a nice LSD.

motor mount inserts + better tires = u'll like the lsd a lot more....

I had the M2B4 in my turbo 4th gen and then switch it over to my all motor 5th gen. In both applications they've worked superior over non-lsd. I wouldn't drive without one.
In my experience, wheel hop is present running on 17's but not on 15's+drag radials. Like most people said, coming out of a turn full throttle is where you can feel the LSD working the most.

i've heard from some people that it not all that good
i would spend the extra money for a quafie,
after all, it has a lifetime warranty

the "random grip" is a piece of ****. you're better off buying a quaife.
