Default Need info on building a H22a1 motor full rebuild And want a 9 to 1 compression

I have a 1993 Honda Prelude bone stock with 110,000 on it and i am looking to redo the whole entire vehicle. I have recently picked the car up about four months ago and i just havent had the time to do it but i am gettin to that point. I am trying to shop around and figure out the best way to buld my motor. I have been told the best way to do this car is to refresh the whole bottom end and lower the compression to a 9 to 1 and boost the motor with something like a greddy turbo kit. My main concern right now is to get the motor built and built correctly. Any and all opinions are wanted and i can really use your help. I am looking for a low 12 second car that is clean and fun to drive, but now i just need to work on the motor aspect. PLEASE help with prcing ideas on what this is going to run me as well because i do have alot of bills to pay. Thanxs alot guys.

To hit low 12's in a prelude you'll need around 350-400whp provided you have slicks, a decent suspension, and know how to drive.

Engine builds are not cheap. Plan on spending an easy 2800-3500 to have the complete motor done properly. Then plan on a few more thousand for a nice turbo set-up, engine management, and of course labor.

I definitely plan at least spending that much money on the motor build but i am trying to figure out my best plan of attack on my motor. When you guys tell me 2800 to 3500 to buld the motor is that inluding labor and such or is that just pistons and such. I obviously need to have it sleeved and machined and all those good things so i am curious what exactly i am looking at here and where my costs are going and the best way to build my motor for a turbo kit. A 12 second car is not my final goal I would love to have a car that ran 13.2 all day I dont want another 14 or 15 second honda. I ALSO NEED A NEW TRANS BECAUSE 3RD AND 5TH SYNCROS ARE BAD. WHAT ROUTE DO I GO NEW? OR rEBUILT OR IS THERE A RACE TRANS OUT THERE? Thanxs again guys. Marc Mosher
