will i need to replace my headgasket if i dont heatcycle the motor??

i just trqued my head down and it felt like the threads on one of the holes pulled through also the headstuds were all at the same heigh, but now that one is sticking out alot farther out the top of the nut than the others..

wil i be able to re-use the headgasket if i pull it apart again?

 

it should be fine......

same thing happened to me and some other friends.....
i've seen people re-use headgaskets with copper spray

it should be fine for u becuase you never even started the motor......
ive torque heads and cams down.....forgot the rubber o ring below the middle cam cap.....take everything off and start all over.....

 

just checkedit.

that stud must have been loose or something felt real wierd getting tight pulled the head and everything looks fine
