you know how when your car is in neutral the shifter has alot of play and moves around, well my shifter does that in all the gears...What is causing that? and also now it wont stay in second gear , when I hold the shifter it like pops out of gear and jerks the tranny and makes me jerk forward and when i let my hand off the shifter it moves a lil bit and starts making a grinding noice. What is my problem?

check your mounts. it also sounds like your tranny is starting to take a **** on you

 

there is a bolt right above the bpipe where the shifter sits. Try to tighten it, remember u have to hold the nut with a wrench.

 

i just got the car july 8th....brand new tranny i beleive

Tighten the bolt that connects the shifter to the linkage

 

You may also want to check the linkage, where it connects to the tranny. The 12mm bolt and the rubber insert could allow for poor shiftability. I had mine come off once and it wouldn't shift.. It felt really mushy and had alot of play before it came off. Hope this helps....

 

well i got the play that it had tightened so its not all lose and floppy like a dick lol....but they said its something inside the transmission. Anyone know what it could be and how much to get it fixed
