How To Modify A6 Dist To Fit Z6 Head ? PLEASE!
so I searched. I can't find any pics or write-ups about how to hack up the a6 dist to the z6 head. I dremeled the mount where the dist bolts to, but see that most people use washers. What for? What do I need to do ? I believe thise is retarding my timing so much it won't start. . help!
THANKS!

Drill the top whole on the upside of dizzy to make it bigger and put a bolt in there and use two big washers one on each side of dizzy to tighten the bolts against the housing.( The side bolts do not go in the holes just in the threads the washer is what pushes the dizzy against the head.
the dizzy mounts up to the head just fine. . I dremeled it a bit and without a washer it lines up perfect, am I doing something wrong? can you elaborate or give me a pic ?

If it mounts up just fine then why won't your car start
The reason you have to grind out the holes and use some washers is so you can move the dizzy around when you are setting the timing.

what i did was use a small pair of vice grips to hold the distributor on to the head.
than start the car and let it warm up to full operating temp. so i could adjust the timing. then i hooked up a timing light, and moved the distributor until the timing was at stock specs.
i then noted how much material i need to remove from the distributor so i could bolt the distributor on. i dremaled and hacksawed the excess material until i was able to get the bolts in. than you have to use 1 or 2 big washers on each bolt to hold the distributor in place.
i had to cut a small piece off of the top bolts washer so it would fit, because the washer i used was to big. i also bought new bolts so i would have enough thread since i was planning on using a few washers.
if you need pics, give me an email adress and ill send you some close up pics since i just had to mod my distributor 3 days ago. good luck.

So if the ECU error is dist it has to be the ignition coil, dist or ecu?

Alright, so I did this http://www.we-todd-did-racing....3D%3D
Checked the black/yellow wire for signal, and got just under 12 volts, so thats good.
the second half http://www.we-todd-did-racing....3D%3D
says to use the test harness, which I don't have, so I can't do this . .
So how the heck am I to figure out what is causing my ECU error 15 ?
Any help at all?
