Default crx wire colors and ecu pin outs (repairng hacked harness, some wires are the same)

If anyone has an si underdash harness uncut I will buy it from you.

I have a hacked up harness at the plugs for the ecu. I went to the yard and cut two harnesses at the plugs: they are both different then mine. One is almost the same but there are several wires that are the same color.

I cut the original one so I don't know which wires go where (at least the ones that are the same color)

Can I safely assume that the same color ones are the same and just match them up with any of the same color on the plugs? I have the original plugs to compare pinouts.

I wish I had the helms and I wish I had not bought this abused car (btw the helms pdf on hybrid garage is for a right hand drive car EDIT I found a lhd one but I can't read the colors (bad scan) ) and the colors are different.)

I know. But I thought (I am an idiot) that since they are from the same car and the wires were color coded it would be easy to match up.

The problem is that a few (around 10) wires have doubles and some (white I think) have more than double.

I looked at the online helms for the rhd crx (the only one I could make out the colors) and it seems that the same color wires join up anyway. Now I wonder if it is the same for all of my wires (since there are more of the same colors etc.)

I am looking for any crx si, 99-00 si, or obd1 vtec harness. I have cash if anyone has one.

just because they are the same color doesn't mean anything - for instance the yellow wire at A7 is for the #4 injector while the yellow at B3 is for the A/C compressor clutch relay control - the white at B15/B17 (connected together in harness) is for the ignitor while the white at B12 is for the crank sensor and the white at C16 is for the O2 sensor - also depends on which model CRX, as the Si, DX and HF all have different harnesses, which are not interchangeable - HF harness also has yellow at C8 for the EGR valve lift sensor (no wire there on Si) - DX has orange wire at B2 while Si has blue at B2 and also has blue at B14 - green wire at A6 is for the purge cut-off solenoid, however, HF also has green at A7 for A/C and at A11 for clutch switch - sounds like your best bet is to get a different harness and it needs to be for your model of CRX

Do I need a whole harness or is there a connector some where that separates the side with the ecu plugs etc?

Maybe I will connect the ones that match and use a multi meter and check for continuity with the sensors for the rest - what do you think?
This will tell me what goes where:

no connector between connectors at firewall and connectors at ECU - are the wires still such that you can tell which ones were at plug 'A', plug 'B' and plug 'C'? at each plug, there aren't too many the same color - you could check for continuity on them to determine which is which - what model is your CRX?

No I took the tape off to make room to solder .
The crx is (I believe) a standard (dx I guess) but it has an si dash (and possibly harness) The car is a real hack job that I am trying to fix.

well, too many variables.

I say, decide what harness you wanna go with (si/hf/dx), and get both main (underdash) harness and engine harness for the same car. That way you'll know for sure they match up to each other.

Could I use any other harness, there seems to be a lot of 99-00 si harness floating around. I already have an obd2b-1 adaptor and an obd1 ecu, I wouldn't mind getting a dizzy. But I guess it would make everything else (cluster etc.) hell to hook up.

okay it seems to be an si (or hf, I need to look at the wires in the connectors, but pretty sure it is si) harness. So if anyone has an si underdash harness uncut I will buy it from you.
