speed limiter
I think it doesn't have one....only one limited by drag/gearing. I know it's definitely not 125, if it does though. Both my LS and my friend's GSR easily go above 135, and keep going.
Well 135 indicated is about 125-128 really. Our speedos arent very accurate at high speeds. YOu really need a GPS and a test track to see the top end, lets keep it off the streets.

Rev limited, like mentioned earlier. I've been up to 135, according to the speedo, and had more revs to go. But I caught up to my frineds so I slowed down.
I dunno... awhile back I had a flat road, little wind, and no traffic, and pushed it... I hit an indicated 130, and stopped. I held that for 10 sec. or so, and then backed off... Seemed like a speed limiter to me.
Speed limiters are often used when OE tires are not rated to the top speed of the vehicle. Are the XGT V4's H-rated? If so, then they're only rated to 130.

the reason I was asking is because I'm going to buy a fields safc that has a apparently hooks up to a speed limiter. I didn't think the gsr has one since I've hit 210 km /hour (126 m/h) and it was still climbing.
I went to 135mph then stopped, can't remember the rev line tho...that was bone stock. I haven't tried it now after I/H/E/VAFC...
edit: I stopped myself, but who knows til how fast this GSR could go?!

No bullshit, my 2000 GSR saw 142 bone stock except for a CAI. I never saw any speed limiter. That was the absolute fastest it would go too. Slightly downhill with a slight tail wind, 94 octane. I wont say where.
my friends 98' stock (except cai) gsr hit 152 mph at 7500 rpm's. he has the picture to prove it.
he also ran a 15.2 at 92 mph in the 1/4 on stocks.

If you guys did 140+ on the street, there are no words to describe how dumb you are. Not only are you putting yourself at risk, but what about others on the road, what about your families? How would your mom feel if you were killed you morons? I know im about to get flamed by a bunch of kids who are gonna say they can handle and all this ****, but whatever, its your life, just stay the **** away from me.

I found it comical that you are saying what you are and then reading the Mario Andretti quote in your signature! hehe!
But you are right. There is no justification for driving so fast. I've done it on an open highway on a weekend at about 6am trying not to lose my friends on the way to the road course. Is it any safer since it was during a time when there was no traffic? NO. I can still crash and burn. But I can't change the fact that I did it. Will I do it again? NO, I have a wife and child now. Plus, road courses like Sears Point are waaaayyyy too fun, especially the carousel!!!
Too bad I moved away.
