RPM Guage problem

Default RPM Guage problem

ive got a 98 civic ex and i was installing some guage face plates and after finishing the install the rpm guage didnt want to respond like it used to. If anyone knows how to fix this prob id greatly appreciate it.

Take it back apart, and see whats rubbing.

ive tried both and neither works really. Theres a few spot you can place the needle where it acts normally but that spot is mainly putting the needle around 3k rpms, i havnt been able to get it back to 800 and act normal, anything else?

i didnt, but the guy helping me swore that was the only way to do it. i wouldve rather not either. I think i mostly fixed it tho, if you push the needle all the way in and then barely pull back out it moves freely and stays with the cars actual rpm more closely. but ony time will tell now.
