pulled spark plug wire and nothing happens...why??
posting for a friend:
why the car was running, he pulled spark plug wire number 3 and nothing happened. same goes for spark plug wire number 2, when pulled off with the car running and nothing happened.
he took the # 1 spark plug wire off while the car was running and the car wanted to die out. samething for the number 4 spark plug wire.
why when number 2 and 3 spark plug wire was taken off while the car running, nothing would happend. the car still idled fine and didn't sound like it wanted to turn off?
also....the number 2 spark plug wire had gas on it....why is that?

Does the car have any mecahanical problems???? When you take the wire off the car wont always try to die. It should just slow idle speed a bit and click. LIke "click, click, click, click. } If the car runs fine i wouldnt worry about it.
yeah...there's something wrong with the car.
the compression numbers are:
210 185 210 210
there is no signs of a blown head gasket though. thats what my friend was thinking too.

i wasn't sure if the compression numbers would have anything to do with it.
i told him its doing that cause i think he has bent valves.
he did a leak down test and air came out through the exhaust and intake manifold, but not through the oil cap.

what would that do?
he doesn't want to drive the car until he can figure out why the compression is low on the number 2 cyl.

Ive always thought a difference of 10-15% between cylinders was ok... <SHRUG> I dont think its a drastic drop in pressure...
can you clarify on exactly what he did.... Im still trying to understand exactly what he did. If he pulled the wires while the car was still on, and then pulled out the spark plug after wards? You do realize he is flooding the cylinder that has no sparks with fuel right?

he had the car on and he was pulling the spark plug wire off one by one to see what the car would sound like.
when he pulled off the # 1 and 4 wire, the car sounded like it wanted to die out, like it normally would.
when he pulled off the #2 and 3 wire, the car didn't have a change in sound and it didn't seem like the car wanted to die out.
it stayed idling just fine like he never took off the spark plug wire.
