I have an H22a in a hatch and today I wanted to adjust my FPR and found out that it will not go below 39 PSI according to the gauge. Whats they deal? I am using a AEM fuel rail with AEM fpr with a B and M gauge. The fuel pump is a 255 Walbro. When I first got the car running i was able to adjust the fpr from 24 psi+. Whats going on? Is it my gauge? or do u think the FPR is bad?

 

why in gods name would you want to adjust it into the 20's?????

i think 39 is just fine . and also thats because you have a 255 fuel pump.

 

yup its becuse of ur fuel pump

 

The B&M FPR's suck, get a real one. The stock FPR's bottom end is a bottle neck because it doesnt flow enough fuel. I had the same problem as you, and I ended up going with an AEM like this:

 

he's not using a B&M FPR.... just a B&M gauge - which I've heard can be suspect. Got access to another gauge to double check?

I couldnt pass emissions so I had to drop the fuel pressure to 24 PSI to pass. once it passed the sniffer test i immediately ran it back up to about 39 PSI. There it has stayed for a while. I just pulled my plugs and discovered it was running rich. So I figured I would drop a few PSI on the FPR. Unfortunately to my discovery it wont drop anymore. My setup has not changed at all? According to the stock Honda service manual the fuel pressure is anywhere from 33-40 PSI. Thats why I figured I would drop it down to about 36-37 PSI, but I ran into this problem.

 

did you disconnect the vacuum line to the FPR before you adjusted?

 

when the vacuum line is disconnected I cant get it to go below 42 psi.

I'd say your gauge is FUBAR'd. When you turn off your car does the needle go to zero? if not, chunk that POS

 

It is the fuel pump. What you need to do is drill the relief hole in your FPR. There is a writeup on Endyne's site.

 

Endyns way works. Thats what I did, worked great.

He's running a AEM not a B&m fpr. I dont think you can do that to a aem.

 

My B&M gauge took a **** on me...the needle wrapped completely around. I used PrecisionH23a's gauge [nice liquid filled] to set my static fuel pressure [vacuum line disconnected] @ 38psi. I am using an Aeromotive FPR with a Walbro 255 HP.

I am going to invest in a nice liquid filled fuel pressure gauge for my rail...anyone know where to get one?

thats what i did and it works great
