What is the definition of both these terms? I have never been exactly sure. Quite a few people seem to think that these are important things to be aware of, so I'd like to know what I'm talking about also.
oversteer is when your tail flings around on a turn and you're facing oncoming traffic. understeer is when your car doesnt want to turn as much as you'd like and you fly into the ditch.

I don't have any gaming consoles...not to mention time to play with them. If I ever come across an opportunity to play it, I'll pay attention to those aspects.
Graphically you can also look at it this way...
When you enter a turn and you OVERSTEER, that means you "turned too much" and the front of the car is headed towards the inside of the turn.
Same idea if you UNDERSTEER meaning you "didn't turn enough" and the front of the car goes towards the outside of the turn.
Like they said above, this is caused by wheels losing tracktion.
Let's say you enter a turn and gun the accellerator. For front wheel drive cars, the front wheels will slide causing the front of the car to seemingly go straight thus called UNDERSTEER. Same idea for rear wheel drive where the rear tires keeps going straight instead of turning thus making the front of the car seem like it's heading towards the inside of the turn.

Understeer is when you try to turn at the corner and the car wants to go straight.
Oversteer is the opposite of understeer, front of the car will want to go farther inside the turn.

Understeer: when the front tires loose traction first when in a turn.

extreme mental thoughts of both......
Over steer

Understeer
rev it to 5K dump the clutch and when u start going turn the wheel to the left.
PS: dont attempt unless you are a ricer and if you are then go ahead! just simplifing it 4 everyone

It was in someones sig line on CRX Forum.
Personally, I'm not used to the rear even thinking about steping out!
SOHC can't power out if rear snaps around.
