Apexi Ground kit install question. Is it supposed to stay illuminated with car off????
Well I own a 96 Del Sol and I recently added an Apexi ground kit and two leads go to the battery, one neg and one positive. The other three are indeed for the ground and have run the wires to several different grounding points, engine block etc. The problem is that the Apexi logo stays illuminated with the car off. Is it supposed to stay on all the time or only when the car is running? Since then i've obviously had problems starting the car , a dead or drained battery. Has anybody used this kit and how were your results. Thank you for any help you may be able to provide.
lol dont havet he kit but if its wired to the battery it is going to stay on all the time. that is a really stupid desing why dont you take off the power wire? all you need is a better ground rite. or if you really want that apexi thing on run a 12volts switched wire from your fuse box i believe for the itnegra they have it im not sure wut car you own but as long as its continous power its gonna drain your battery everyt ime.
i was looking for a better ground and to be honest the Apexi kit looked pretty nice and seemed pretty functional but I thought I may have hooked it up incorrectly. Anyone else have this item on their car?
lets see a picture because if you hook it up to the battery no matter what it would drain your battery. the instructions mite ask for you to gte it from a switched 12volt but the thing is the light will only turn on if the car is on is the light under the hood??? hooking up the power or light doesn't offer any function i would disconnect the power from the battery it would function the same. but it depends how does it look show us a pic never saw the apexi ground wiyaaz.
My Sol is currently getting an alarm installed as well as my stereo at the shop so I will go there today and get some pics and post em. But the real problem is is that i'm pretty sure that the Apexi logo is not supposed to stay on without the car running. Here is a link to a site that sells this kit. I will post pics later tonight, and again any help would be useful. Thanx again. http://www.rxecret7.com/asugrsy.html As you can see by the pic in the link the two wires coming from the actual unit are used for the battery terminals and the other three are used for the ground points.
