its been proven that if your car is made for lower octane, puttin higher octane doesn't do anything and just wastes you money....

What does it say in the EM1's owners manual?

I have a b16a2 and I've only been using 89, oh well.

I doubt all VTEC motors need premium. If your compression is stock on a SOHC VTEC motor such as D16Z6, D16Y8, D15B and the VTEC-E models, you can and is recommended you use 87 octane. The higher compression motors such as DOHC VTEC motors are the ones that need 91+ octane. I use 89 octane on my stock D15B7 due to timing issues I haven't resolved yet. I ping with 87 octane. Need to get it done quick, tired of the pricier gas. Then again, filling up with 87 or 92 you're only going to put another 2 dollars more, why not?

For Em1s it specifically say run premium gas. doesnt specify octane rating. I use BP 93 octane and the car runs like a champ. Occasionally ive run Pro-blend octane boost for races and there is a difference. I ran my best time at the local 8th mi. (9.75 @ 74) with it. Compared to the 9.9-10's I normally run. And there is significant pull on highway. Slowly pulled on a G35 and beat him from a 60 mph downshift.

Mods: AEM V2, SA hyper grounds, Nology wires, denso iridiums, Ractive muffler. Im telling you there is some power to be made from that octane boost. But you dont have to believe me if you dont want I had witness's. He pulled ahead at first. I was in 3rd. towards 6500 I matched same speed and slowly started pulling then 4th we were side by side screaming. 5th gear I started slowly pass him. My window was at his front fender and he gave up. there were to other hondas (94 GSR & LS EG) I was the only car that hung and pulled on him.
