99 Civic Si salvage title question!
ok i found a black 99 si coupe at a good price but it does carry a salvage title and i ran a carfax on it and it came up that it was a accident back in 00 . it had 6 owner since then everyting is fixed and legit no promblem with the car and look nice couldnt tell if it was in accident !...well my question is would you buy this car for 6gz?....is it worth it..?...and like i said nothing wrong with the car now everything work and is clean! but it does have an accident back in 00 ..let me if you would pay 6gz for these! thanks
ANY car with a Salvaged Title get WAY below Blue Book figures. Especially with 6 owners. That's crazy owners for a 1999 vehicle. My 1995 only had 1 owner before me. Depends on the mileage and condition, I'll take it for $4,000-$5,000. Also, it's VERY hard to get a Salvaged Title back to Clean Title. Also, what EXACTLY was damaged on the car also matters.
it has 65k look like a regular si noting need to be fixed just had that accident back in 00....i see salvage title 99-00 si go fo at least 7thousand and up 6 thousand is pretty low..

something a lot of people dont understand...
To salvage a vehicle, the cost to fix would outweigh the current blue book value. youre saying the car was wrecked a couple of years ago...thats not too long ago. so to salvage that car, serious damage occured. You need to take an experienced body mechanic to check out the weak spots.

Would being stolen and stipped make it a Salvaged title?
If you were to steal a car and strip it of everything valuable... Bringing that car back up to good condition would probably cost more than its worth. Just depends on why it was salvaged i guess.
I know that doesnt really apply to this Si but I'm just asking.

Buy it, if you have plans for the car. If you can do lots of the work yourself, it's totally worth it, and if you have the money to run into unexpected problems, hopefully nothing too big.
good luck!

6 owners in basically 3 years = 1 per 6 months ... that ratio either means that a) its messed up and didnt realize it b) its messed up and they "thought" they could fix it and couldnt
thats my opinion. If I didnt see the before and after shots or see the car damaged and reassembled I wouldnt buy it.

I have a salvaged SI, but mine was a theft recovery. Just like everyone else is saying take a real good look over the car and getting it inspected by a mechanic is well worth it. Also, make sure everything is legit on the car, you might have a hard time passing state inspection without the proper reciepts and paperwork. On the price, 6 grand is pretty low which makes me think something else might be going on.
you could always buy it along w/ a clean title EK and change everything over if the price is right.
6 owners seems shady to me.

i dont really know why u keep saying the car isnt a lemon cause of car fax. Im sure everything that goes wrong with a car doesnt go to car fax. But like everyone else said just take a look at it IMO id get it where i live at a 99 si can easily still go for 10k and a salvage title people would prob sell for maybe 9k
