Default Axxis Metal Master brake pad question...

yesturday i received my axxis metal master pads that i won off ebay and got it for $12 shipped. i was wondering does it suppose to come with that metal peice that goes behind the pads? my first pad change i went cheap and bought some stuff from autozone and it had a peice to put on the back of the pads. check the picture..is there suppose to have the peice for the back of the pad? or it just straight install?

Are you talking about the shim? You can get replacement shims at autozone.

Does it matter if the shims were ommitted?

I forgot to put on mine and got too lazy to install it.

Damn 12 shipped! I thought I got a deal for 20 shipped on mine. Haven't put them in yet but hopefully it should be better than whats in there now. Are these quite abit better and noticeable right away?

I've bought brake pads that came with and without the shims. I just kept reusing my old ones. Now they are too rusted to be used again. I forgot what they are for. Just reuse your old one or get a replacement from honda or autozone.

i installed my axxis ultimates w/out them... i don't know how that plate could silence a squeal, but the functionality of my brakes is grade A w/ brembo blanks on the 5 lug setup.

next brake change i'll put some on...
