Default GSR or B16 head for ls/vtec?

Thinking about going Vtec. Which would i see better performance with? Should i pay the extra money for a gsr head or stick with the cheaper B16 head? gracias

go w/a b16 head.

If you use a GSR head you're stuck using a GSR intake manifold or skunk2 (bling bling, $$$).

using a b16 head you can use a ITR/CTR intake, or b16, or b17.

the gsr head will make more power than the b16. but the b16 head will coast less

i'd take the GSR head, the GSR head will have a bit of higher compression

I believe the GSR head bumps compression by about .2

either one will do you good -- the gsr will bump the compression a bit but cost more. unless you got the good deal it all really matters on the ending power or set up -- meaning the place you want the car to be at when the car is "Finished" good luck either way --- BUDDY

agreed the gsr head will raise comp by.2 basically nothing. either head will suit your needs but gsr is usually more $$$. if you are going for all out power then use the gsr if not the b16 is cool

i would use a b16 head this is from a guy with a gsr block. The b16 doesnt flow alot better than a b18c head but its cheaper and alot more parts available. Plus if you want to bump compression mill head or high compression pistons are good. Besides if you are going to rev it you need new rods and why not pistons while your at it.

both are fine, different combustion chamber designs, but both pretty much have the same potential. I'd prolly go with the b16 head simply because they're more readily available and cheaper.

1.8 ltr with stock b16 head and fuel pressure regulator and some tuning will make 165+ hp and 125+ tq all day long

gsr head w/ ctr cams and use ctr pistons.

skunk2 manifold or take the butterflies out of the stock gsr manifold.
