The rear speakers have an unusual wiring connector with looks to be three wires going to the speaker. Which wires do I use to wire up aftermarket speakers? Which ones are ground and 12+?

If the replacement speakers are without a kit or technical assistance, the you may as well experiment.
If disastrous, which, IMO, is not that likely, little is really lost, knowledge is gained - I cannot see spending $125 for Honda replacement speakers, and they probably do not carry them anyway,
Also, with a multimeter, a man can at least determine which lead is the ground.

 

I'm not putting replacement Honda speakers in. I'm replacing the crappy stock honda speakers with aftermarket Kenwood speakers.

 

I remember installing my sisters stereo on her 98 civic. She had 4 wires going into one of the honda speaker adapters that connect to the plug on factory speakers. My '95 accord had that same BS.

My sisters civic for some reason had 2 + and 2 - wires going into the plug adapter. I got some crimp connectors and crimped the +'s factory wiring on one side, did same for -'s and crimped aftermarket speaker wire to the other side. THen, just connected one + and - to the aftermarket speaker.
