Default motor oil question

I have a stock B16a gen2 (stated w/ low miles...45k miles or even less)...and I bought Valvoline 10W-30 Full Synthetic for it.

Someone told me to not use it on my motor as Valvoline tends to build scuffs, etc. more than other brands. I don't know which to use anymore. Should I return those Valvolines and get another brand?

Sorry for the newbie question, but I want to protect my car from wears as much as possible as a daily driver.

has been my choice for about 70K miles with a combination of honda filters and mobile 1 filters

car runs very well for being a 116K mile heap. I'm very happy i've been running mobile 1 for a while and i will continue to do so.

Using the synpower is no biggie, i'd just recommend Mobile1
