Runnning Boost On H22A7
i have just had my UK Accord Type R FI
had the car on the dyno before fitting the turbo nad got 214bhp @ flywheel
just had it done with the turbo fitted and was pushing 246BHP @ flywheel
i was looking at 300BHP.
the tuner told me that i needed to change the cams back to stock as i have high lift cams and it would cause over lap. and there not suited for boost
is this right, could it cause 50BHP loss with my piper VTEC22BP270 cams

how much boost are you running?? what are the other mods?? i hope youve built the engine for boost, or else that sucker is gonna blow......and yes, cams COULD cause that much loss, but its probably not the only problem
i have just purchased loads of goodies so i can sort the internals
like JE pistons 9:0:1 darton sleeves, eagle rods ect.
the turbo is running 5psi only and thats it no other mods so maybe its the cam set up thats casuing the problem. and i do have skunk2 adjustable pulleys and there really over the + ( advanced ) so im sure its the cams.
anyone else think its the cams
cheers for your help

for a turbo application, you don't want too much overlap and i know the accord type r cams are pretty aggressive. i suggest that you pick up some h22a1 cams. what turbo kit are you using?
