anyone have a winter car , seperate from their integra?
does anyone have a winter car they drive each year and store away their Integra's???
I have a 2001 GSR and I was thinking of getting a 90 Civic HB just for the winter so I can store my beast.
did your insurance rates go down as well because you are driving the beater for half a year?

Nope. I would drive my teg in anything up to a mild snowfall. Anything worse than that and I would probably borrow my parents' ghetto Explorer.
i got an 89 acura legend LS automatic....it was my dads old car, its still in good shape on the outside, runs like a champ and the tranny was just rebuilt and is running strong....leather seats and interior are in not such good shape just from age and sitting around for a couple years with minimal care provided (not abused though)...when my father died i was 13 and didnt take any interest in taking care of the car until i was almost 16 so it just kinda sat around and the leather got all cracked up from that and the speakers rotted in the rear from the sun
anyway, i have it because Yokohama AVSi's are not made for snow...and when i did attempt snow driving everytime i would let up the throttle the back end wanted to race around and be where the front end was...so braking and stopping were very tricky....i had to drive around completely sideways most everywhere that day.....it was fun, but not cool with other cars around
i dont store my integra...i drive it when there is no snow or road salt covering the streets.....we dont get too much snow here in DC so it aint so bad.

I have a 2001 GS-R and I also have a 86' Mazda 323 5 speed. Thats my little winter beater. Keeps miles off my Teg and is great for the winter. My insurance is the same cause i keep it on the road all year round!!

Hehe.. i don't have a teg.. but I do have a Jeep.. and that's my all year beater
If you guys don't have a winter beater and want a good one for cheap.. check out Cherokees. They are amazing and are cheap if you pick up a used one.
Stick some good tires.. and you're good to go.

Hell yes!!
Eversence I got my new paint job my teg has been in the garage, I got my beater taurus to drive me to work and get me through the winter........
I don't believe in owning a "beater" car... A car is a tool, it is made to be driven.. period..... I'll drive any of my cars in the snow....

When I go up to Tahoe this Dec. I plan on taking the S4. AWD is still much safer than FWD in the snow. Not only that it's a hell of a lot more comfy than a ITR or the GF's LS.
yeah, just put away the teg for the winter, i had a 89 prelude with about 240k on the clock and the timing belt blew, screwed the motor, now i have a 92 accord in perfect condition, with 270k on the clock.

When you get an average 150" of snow during the winter a beater is kinda required.
