i use:

mobil 1 5w30
royal purple 5w30

filters:
mobil 1
fram x2
K&N

honda OEM is good, i believe the s2000 filter fits and is a fine filter.

just got done changing my oil like 30 min. ago, I use mobile 1 5w30 synthetic. I just get the 5 gallon one and cut the crap with all the little bottles haha.

I don't think know one really knows which is better it's more of a personal preference. I use to use castrol but when saw how mobils oil looks cleaner and the color well that did it for me, what a whack *** way to make a decision huh lol.

Anyways I think all the top brand gots good stuff anyways. It's all about the advertisement and commercials.

I use Penz 5w-30. And a Honda filter. I use it because it says "oil" in the name. I should switch to high milage though, or buy a new WRX.....

sportin' mobil 10w-30 w/ s2000 filter ...don't mean to jack the thread, but how much of a difference is there between 5w-30 and 10w-30? does the 5w give you that much better gas mileage or is just mainly for colder climates?

Helms says 10w-30 for my climate... that's what I use. But when I just got the car used, I did changes every 750 miles using driveclean, and then switched to fully synthetic. Even in the winter I use 10w-30, just warm up the car for 5-10 minutes. works for me.

My old H23: Havoline 10W-30, then Castrol GTX 10W-30

New H23 VTEC: Castrol Syntec, then Castrol Syntec Blend, now about to go back to Havoline dino-oil, b/c it burns too much and it's getting expensive!!!

98 prelude: honda mechanic told me to use Honda's 5w-20. thought that was a low weight, but works fine and pressure is good.

5w is less viscous than 10w. 10w tends to burn less in hotter climates than 5w does. 5w tends to flow better than 10w also because of the viscosity.
