Default Inlet manifold removal

Does anybody have a how-to on removing the inlet manifold on a 92 vtec? I'm sure I've seen one somewhere, but can't find it through the search.

My car is a 92, and I put a vtec engine in. Does that help you to answer my initial question?

when you say inlet, do you mean intake manifold?

i don't know of any actual write-ups besides the helms,

but most people say it's a PITA to do with the engine in.

The biggest pain are the bolts underneath the manifold. Good luck getting them off or on once you're done. Dont forget the mounting bracket on the bottom side either. other than that... Remove fuel, remove Vacuum, (ALL) Intake tube, Coolant lines, and all connectors. (injector connectors, Air temp, IAC, EGR, Map, TPS) Map sensor might be on the firewall. It depends on what swap you did.

Don't seperate the upper and lower with the butterfly's. There's no need.

Have all new gaskets ready.

Hey adam..

The intake manifold is a pain in the butt to remove with the engine in.. When we took out 1 from a wrecked lude we had to take the head off to get to it!!

there is a write up with pics on http://www.preludeonline.com. you have to sign up
(costs 6 bucks) to access it though. The write up is great and the site itself is worth the 6.00 regristration fee.

Thanks guys. Thought it would be a PITA to remove it with the engine in. I'm in the middle of installing DP nitrous, and thought I may as well install my Hondata intake manifold gasket at the same time. Perhaps I'll do that at a later date though!

vtec_lude (sorry dude, I can't remember your proper name!) - are you going to Ten Of the Best 3 on Sunday? Will be an AWESOME day!!
