Default Problems of running a B18A in a 99 teg?

I may have to rebuild my bottom end due to low compression. My friend might give me his old B18A block. What are the cons of running this as opposed to the B18B, I know that the B18A has a canister on the back of the block where the B18B has a freeze plug.
I am guessing there are different sensors due to the switch from OBDI to OBDII. Basically what Im asking is, what do I have to do to be able to run this block with my stock ecu and not throw codes. Also will it mate up to my B20 head? Thx for the help guys
