Default Air conditioning is funny

SJust got my S2k and was driving in about 95 degree weather and noticed the cooling outlet temperature fluctuating from cold to somewhat warm and back to cold. SLike the compressor was kicking on and off. SThis was all happening at speed.

MY friend was telling me that your AC will fluctuate, as the compressor does not always remain on. It's timed so the coils don't get too cold while it's blowing air, and once they've reached the right temperature the compressor shuts off (fan still blowing, coils still cold) until the coils warm up again, then the compressor kicks in. I'd imagine what you're feeling is that. Maybe thats what the canooter valve controls

-Edited my post as it previously made no sense and I sounded drunk.

I think jolt-tsp is on the right track. Have you ever had your a/c on so long though you actually see the cold air coming out of the vents? Now THAT is a wonderful thing!

Anywho...redtr4, you said you "just got" your s2k...but, is it brand new? what year? mileage?

Maybe the current system needs a recharging of 134a refridgerant. And, if that's not the case, if the car IS brand new, then you should be at a dealership getting it covered under warranty, not on here.

cheers!

Wow you guys are harsh. Its a known problem for the s2k, mine does it and about half of the s2ki board's car does it. Telling him he is full of it? What legitamite reason do you have to stand by that? Are you sitting in his car when the A/C is running? Jeez give him a break

04 2000 miles bought it brand spakin new.
Refrigerant charge seems ok because generally it works great. seems like a metering device problem. like a txv hunting. Or the compressor is going on and off.
