Can anybody tell me what advantage you can get out of gas port high compression piston..? and do they make them for d16..? also where can i get them..i need 78mm size

basiclly they allow the extreme pressure from high compression pistons to vent through the holes and on to the top piston ring pushing them against the cylinder walss allowing a better seal ...instead of some of the compression leaking by the rings

couldn't you replicate this same affect with a higher duration cam?

no cams have nothing to do w/it.all they do is force the rings against the cyl walls harder to seal better.But it causes cyl wear to accelerate.

i dont know if it would cause the cylinders to wear faster but it will wear the compression ring slightly faster.

so i have heard.

you should try asking Jeff and importbuilders.com if he can get you some custom gas ported pistons for the D16. he sells them for the B series engine.
