Warm-up time on forged pistons in daily driver?
Searched, didn't really find anything...
I've got an 84mm B20VTEC with IB Spec Wiseco's... I'm curious what everyone here waits before driving their daily driver with forged pistons...
I can hear apparent piston slap while idling for the first minute, if I'm in a real rush and leave short after my water temp needle just starts moving (around 130-140 deg F), I can hear piston slap whenever there is the slightest load on the engine.... Ideally, I wait till I've got ~180 deg F water, take it easy until I have +140deg oil temp, cause frankly, I have no idea realistically how bad driving around with any sort of piston slap is for the pistons/cylinder walls...

im usually in a rush to take off too in the mornings........i fire it up and let it run for about a miniute and then take off slowly. and i too hear the piston slap under load which is why i really take it easy until it warms up....
yup, in the a.m. right when i get out of the shower i fire up the car, go back in and finish getting ready... usually about 5 min pass and i'm driving the car.. by the time i hit the freeway she's warm enough to mash on
