Default No rev limiter after I got my alarm installed!!!!

I just got an alarm installed on my car. I have a eg hatch with a 95 gsr swap ... Anyway, I just got a viper alarm with remote start and I have lost my revlimiter.. I am not sure what happen either but, now the car runs like ****.. I mean it still revs to 8200 and beyond but I almost blew my motor . I am glad I looked at the rpm when I did because I was already at 8400rpm..

The car feels as if it takes a long time to get to 8000 rpm now ... There is no check engine lights that I see.. However, Shops have been know to disable the check engine light with swaps anyways... So it possible it could be throwing a CEL but not sure... I am so pissed off because the car was a beast .. I mean it would scream to redline with no problem.. All gears would rev all the way to the redline.. Now I can't even get to redline in 4th gear... Sad but true !!!!

So anyways, Does anybody have any idea what could have caused me to lose my rev limiter and perfomance..

I have tried to reset the ecu....

Sorry if I posted this in the wrong section. I did that because I have a GSR swap!!!

Does your CEL light come on when you start the engine and go off shortly afterwards? If so the CEL circuit it's probably working fine. The rev limiter is built into the ECU so I highly doubt that the alarm install had anything to do with it. Your tach is seeing the correct engine speed so I believe the ECU is seeing it correctly as well.

Question: Have you ever hit the limiter before with this set-up? If no you could possibly have a inaccurate tach or a chipped ECU with limiter raised or removed altogether.

Yes the car has always hit the rev limiter before.. I mean the car was flawless before the install of the alarm..

How can I start to troubleshooting this ????
