problem with responder
i've noticed something strange with my responder for a few times.
1. tried to start my my engine, but the responder didn't show that the engine started. when i went outside to look, my engine was already running. i think this one happened to me twice.
2. my alarm got a full trigger, i even heard my alarm and responder going off. i looked at my responder, but there was no icon on my responder that indicated a trigger.
i don't remember if the engine start incident occured before or after i asked the shop to adjust the sensitivity. however, i know for sure the 2nd incident (alarm triggered, but no icon) occured after the sensors were adjusted to be more sensitive.

remote display might be done or possibly the brain. The shop I had my alarm installed at thought it was just the remote so the warrantied it and then found out it wasn't the remote and the brain was hooped.
how would i know if it's just the responder or the brain?
sometimes it works finel, but those mentioned were just incidents where it didn't. i can arm/disarm the alarm, engine start, receive warn/trigger alerts. it's just sometimes that it doesn't respond properly.

Take it to the shop you got the alarm at, and ask if you can program on a new remote. test it that way. if the brain lets you program it, it is probably the remote, and if the brain won't learn the remote the brain is hooped.
is it true that the matrix rs3 only allows 1 remote to be programmed at a time? i always want a 2nd one as backup, but they told me i can only have 1 remote programmed at a time. if i can only have 1 responder programmed at once, is there any chance a normal remote (with out responder/lcd) will work with this system? my main reason for a 2nd remote is so that i wouldn't be locked out if my responder battery goes (considering the responder drains the battery so fast).
how much does it cost if i get a 2nd responer so i can test out what there the problem is coming from?

Remote are about $120. I don't have a clifford Matrix... but on my code alarm, I can program on up to 4 remotes. I can have as many of the responder remotes as I want however, The brain will only send the signal to the remote that was last used. I find it really hard to believe that Clifford/DEI would only let you have 1 remote installed at a time. I would check with the owners manual and figure that out. Seems really fishy to me. I know with Clifford G4's you can have as many master remotes as you want programmed on, up to the maxinum number. My GF has 3 master remotes programed and one companion remote, and they all work without any problems.
