Is the TPS or Throttle Position Sensor on the Integra Type-R ONLY good ON OTHER Type-Rs?

~ Or can I use ANY TPS?
My dad like to be involved with my car as much as he can and doesn't know what the **** he is talking about half the time and so he calls me today while some mechanic is telling him he's going to have to special order this thing.
I was under the impression that they were all the same and I just don't want him to get scammed.
Thanks in advance!

A TPS is a TPS, but you have to drill out or dremel slots in the OEM rivets. He probably is being told by a dealer that they need to order a new TB since the TPS is considered part of it.

Thanks.
I don't know where my dad finds these places around town but my he put me on the phone with this guy who kept referring to him as 'my mechanic' and started asking me about the motor so he could sum up my knowledge or something, telling me how he was 'hooked up' with all the other parts stores in town and 'what he saw was...' so I drilled him on what computer app he was using because I had the Honda EPC and let him know me and my friend brian (thinkbrian) and I did the swap so he shut up about it and let me go. I immediately called my dad back and told him to just get his card and we would call him because I felt my source(s) aka Honda-Tech.com was much better than his. I guess he was trying to get my dad to order an entirely new Type-R throttle body.
I appreciate your advice, I saw in other posts that any could be used I was just making sure.
My car's still throwing a code 7 though so Brian's bringing third TPS on the way, hopefully it will work this time.

All you have to do is slot the rivets with a dremel and you can screw the old one off. Then replace the slotted rivets with hex headed bolts (easier to adjust) and you can adjust the tps back to stock settings when you replace it.

No dremel so I used a hack saw and did a pretty damn good job slotting them. It still throws the code and I haven't had a chance to test iit with a third TPS.
Hopefully tonight I'll have a chance at another.
Could it possibly be something other than the sensor? The wiring looks fine as it is constantly running 5.20 volts as measured through the multimeter and when I slide the sensor it got up to 5.30 and that's it!

You're right. I just went and double checked with one of my hondata logs.... WOT = 4.5V and closed = .5v.
