I got some broken bolts on my b16 valve cover... i broke two of them, they are two that go in the center of the valve cover, the ones that hold the plug cover down. Anyone got a solution or some new bolts?

 

i did the same thing, take off the valve cover and unbolt the bolt, then order some from honda


i think you need number 20, i think the bolt runs about 5 bucks

 

I pulled some out of a D16 head when I needed some and they worked on my B.

 

yeah, those bolts are pretty soft, especially on first gen b16as... I've done it 4-5 times, luckily I have another head to pull bolts from.

 

a visit to you local pick and pull or to the local honda dealer will solve your problems if i remember right your only saposed to torque them like 10 or 12 inch lbs

 

ive done it once...its a snap to replace...
they are a 2-sided bolt, threads go down into the head and then the other threads go up and through the valve cover. Torque them at like 5 ftlbs, and the #20 is correct.
