Default ECU question

Are ECUs supposed to blink once in a while just to show that it is working? Cause my ECU doesnt blink at all, the only time it lights up the LED is when i start my or turn on the ignition, but it only blinks once for half a second. Other than that, it doesnt blink.

No, that is normal. The Ecu should flash the LED at start up and not again, unless you are throwing a code.

exactly what he said. in other words, no blinky light = good. Blinky light = Bad.
If you ecu wasnt working, your car wouldnt even start.

Just because the check engine light went off, it doesn't mean that the ecu is not throwing a code. Check the ECU because once the CEL comes on, then there will be a code on the ECU. The only way to make the code go away is to reset the ECU. But if the problem is not fixed, then it will come on again.

if you are looking for codes go to http://www.autolibrary.org put in your car info, and get the codes....
