Not sure if I understand your question. But if your looking to count the flashes for a trouble code, It is the check engine light that flashes.

It's on your gauge cluster...it's the check engine light...count how many times it blinks (2 sequences, a pause in between each sequence, one sequence blinks faster than the other).

long flash = 10
short flash = 1

Add them up for the code.

You have to jump a connector under the dashboard to see the flashes.

If you're going to do this, you should get a copy of the service manual. The procedure is described in the "Fuel & Emissions" section.
