Default new parts=big difference

well after my last compression test that seemed botched. (u can search for threads by me to see what happened) i found out that the person turnin it over was not on the throttle during the test. which is what im assuming gave me such low numbers.

anyway, got a skunk IM, DC header. but my 70mm TB accidentally got sold to someone else. but we installed those parts and street tuned anyway for now, untill the new TB is in. i would have to say im amazed. the miss is completely gone. and there is a tonna more power now right across the whole rpm range. im gonna wait to put on the TB and cut my valve cover. before it goes back on the dyno. that way they can adjust cams this time. im sure there is another 10hp hidin in those. but for the time being, my butt dyno tells me about 180hp. it was 150 before. and it is an acceptional difference. so once im off the dyno. i should be right in the 190-200whp range like i should be.

dont have your hopes up high a very good packaged all motor setup will come up to 190-200whp what your full setup. skunk2 im dc header tb and cam gears if that is all you got you wont hit 180whp just dont get your hopes up too high check some dyno's on this site.

ok like i said search for my other posts. i didnt list my set up all over again cause ive done that about 10 times now. but since alot of you seem to have down syndrome or something, ill list again.

forged pistons 11.5/1
eagle forged rods
82mm bore
pnp head
full ferrea valva train(valves,springs,retainers etc.)
crower stage 2 cams
aem adjustable cam gears
aem fpr
walboro 255lph fuel pump
310cc injectors
full apexi n1 exhaust
injen intake
hondata s200
stage 3 clutch
and this is all on a gsr b18c1

so before you run your mouth please try and know what you are talking about. now that ive gone this far. i might as well retell the entire story.

anyway, that set up had a problem. it only gave 150whp on the dyno. and it had a bad miss. part of the miss turned out to be the #2 spark plug boot was part way off. but after that it still had an intermitent miss from 3k rpm to 4500.
so i figured the reason it was sop low on power was due to bein choked off by the stock header and IM and TB. so i went down this trip to get those done. and see if the miss was a tuning issue or just a bad injector. unfortunately the TB was on hold, but got sold to someone else. so i went with just the header and IM. and then retuned the s200. the miss is now gone. and the power increase was incredible. that is definately where the power was being lost. so once my TB is in and i have time. ill go down and get it put on and redyno tune. either that or ill save up and run itb set up.

well since it dynoed at 150whp last time. and ive ridden in 200hp civics before. it feels like it has gained close to 30hp. so why is that dumb?? obviously im not gonna be exact. but it should be close.

Sounds like a nice set-up but the 70mm TB might be too much. Especially when the Skunk2 IM inlet is 66 or 64 mm.

Does the TB taper down at all?

im not too sure. i know the stock one tapers down quite a bit. 70mm should be good though. the guys at the shop that do the tuning. always run the 70mm on a gsr. thats what theyve dynoed at the most power.

and the fuel system is built to supply plenty of fuel no matter how much air im takin in. if it doesnt work out though. ill proly be doin itb next year anyway.

i take back what i said beofe i didnt know your whole setup. but if the tb doesnt taper its 70mm on the side of the intake manifold then its over kill. do you arleady have the tb have you ever thought off getting a 68-66 ericks racing tb?

i was gonna run with the 68mm. but the guys that do the tunning. said i was better off with the 70mm. cause it dynos higher than the rest.

peak power isn't everything. don't count out throttle response

actually throttle response and smoothness of power is now awesome, after these new parts. but unfortunatley i wont know the power curve until it goes on the dyno. but feels good at the moment.

64-65mm is all you need for that setup.
