Can I reuse pistons in my engine build?

Not piston rings, I have a new set of those.


Because of an oil problem my bottom end on my B18C is shot and I have bought a Spoon Crank, Rods and Piston kit usually used to upgrade a B16B to 1.8 (it was far cheaper than getting just the crank from Honda UK).

But I need to remove my CTR pistons from my current (ovoid) rods, these have to be pressed off and I'm wondering if this will distort them, so they can't be used again.

I really don't want to have to buy new pistons because of the time they take to get and the money (I wasn't expecting to have to rebuid the motor), si if they can't be used I'll have to go back to 11.1:1 ITR

Have them checked out by a professional before using them.

 

Always best of cause, the guys who will be taking them off are race engine builders (mostly Fords and stuff but all the same), and they will probably not want to use them regardless they are that picky. They insisted on matching each piston to each cylinder before re-boring last time rather than going for the standard .25mm across the 4.

anybody know "generally" if the piston is removed correctly and with care whether is will get distorted just because it has been removed, after all they don't get distorted when they are assembled.
