Default HID Comparison 00'GSR w/5k vs 94 GSR w/6k [many pics] 56K beware

My girl and I finally got around to installing a set of 6K HID's into her teg. Yes, I know these aren't "OEM HID blah blah blah... " I don't care.. it's worth the money you pay and 10X better than halogen. Anyways.. with that out of the way.. The 5k kit is installed on my 00 GSR and the 6k kit is installed on her 94 GSR. Keep in mind since her kit was just installed last week the "color shift" won't happen for awhile but I can't imagine it would be THAT different.

I've had the 5K's on my car for about a year and I really like the way her's looks. Has a slight hint of purple whereas mine has some blue but they both put down bright white light when your driving. As you can tell we both need to adjust our lights. Pics kind of suck.. maybe we'll take more in the future. Enjoy.

5k, 00 GSR

6k, 94 GSR

5k vs 6k

xenondepot is where I got both kits. As far as the glare her lights are way more out of wack than mine were. Keep in mind the photos were taken with a slighty longer exposure than usual.

Ahh I remember summer specials at xenon depot.

I have the xenondepot kit (4300)...Lovin it...may not be retrofitt but it will do.

I also have another OE philips ballasts too and spare OE 4300 bulbs (2) on the side for my other project... I might sell it and put custom 9600 rings around em since I know how to dremel and all that good stuff.

The "colorshift" is hardly noticable...

On the 2nd and 3rd to the last, which one is yours... The 2nd to the last has a waaay better cutoff.

I know PatrickGSR will post here and ***** out his retrofitted ****.

My kit is alot older so when we ordered the 6k kit, I noticed they don't have anything inbetween 4300k and 6k. I don't think the 6k is too purple.. seems like a cleaner, brighter white.
