cant get top bolt on rear of cat
im tryin to change my stock cat. the top bolt on the rear end of the cat wont budge. its hard to get to. i had to connect 3 extensions to my wrench to reach it. i tried pushin pretty damn hard to get it to turn but its stuck on there good. any suggestions on how to remove the bolt easier? maybe an idea on what tool i should use to work better? i need to take it off asap.
With a name like Laker Hater I almost didn't want to reply. However, when I took out my exhaust, I used WD40 on some of the bolts to loosen it up.
Yes, like xprohx said spray it with WD40 and let that sit for awhile. It's hard to explain but I was able to get to it with a ratchet and an extension after a few minutes of twisting a turning it.
I opened one of the doors and pushed the ratchet with my foot to break the bolts loose.
Also, make sure your loosening and not tighening. Don't ask..

Ditto, unbolt the 2 spring bolts in the front of the cat. Unhook the rubber hangers and rest the cat on the ground. Soak the bolts with CRC and sit for 5 min. It will come out easy now.

i personally prefer PB Blaster Penatrat.....that stuff works great....i know it works cuz im a girl and im kinda weak so i spray that stuff on liberally and let it soak and then it comes right off!
wont work on my car w/o it!

Nooffense to the bolt loosener folks, but don't waste your time with WD-40 or PB. Get out a good propane torch and put it onthe bolt for 5 minutes. LIke the blue flame hit the nut for 5 minutes and it will break and rust bonds. On exhaust I don't even waste anytime with bolt loosener anymore. If the propane torch does not work then get out a cutter or grinder and just cut it off. I gues sit depends if you need the nut or stud. You didn't mention this. Best of luck
