My car battery went down once, after recharging Stero is not working. Intial it asked for code but I did recognise that it is asking for code and I didn't enter that code even thoe I have. I played with all the keys and it is showing err-3 error.

How to get the promot to ask for code to provide security code to make it work.

you need the serial # off of the radio, then you have to call the dealer if you don't have the code on you. Touch the negative battery cably with the positive cable for like 5 seconds to clear the error code. If you donot clear the err3 code you CANNOT enter the radio code.

 

I am not totally sure with this guy is saying but by all means do not touch your negative and positive battery cables together. Just go get the code from the dealer with the serial number which is on the top of the radio.

 

You can touch them together..with the key OUT of the ignition. I have done it myself not sparks or anything, it just erases the memory from the radio.
