po420 - Catalizer Deterioration..

i have a 2002 honda accord coupe... 4cyl...what would couse my cat to go bad after 56,725 KM?

Read all your owner's books. In USA that would still be under warranty.

maybe its the 87 gas that i am using? ? ?

should i start putting 89?

Converters are covered under warranty for 8yrs 80k. Yes the do go out early sometimes.

The ECU uses the 2nd oxygen sensor to decide whether the cat is working. So a bad sensor can cause this too. If you've got the same warranty as we do, let the dealer worry about what's causing it.

Even I canada there is a goverment warranty on the Cat. Its 8/130k. Take the car to your dealer and have it repalced free of charge.
