STD with MPFI
I noticed that a couple of members have done the MPFI swap on their D15.
I would like some informations on the performance of this modification compared with a real Si.
Anyone has 1/4 mile times or drag stories or just reviews?

good ahit i killed an si on the street and at the track the clutch died so noo good time best with a shitty clutch was a 17.2 but the 4 speed is going for a 5 speed dx tranny my frenid has the same **** as me after i did it we did it to his car and he runs a 15.4
What else have you done besides the Si manifold swap?
I also got an AEM short ram and a cheap header for mine along with the newer head.
I'm just hoping to be able to merge into traffic better.

Really? All 70hp overwhelming the 165/75/13's, LOL. Does the standard motor really mod well or something?
Seriously though, I almost bought a standard, complete with vinyl seats and radio delete. I didn't though because I heard that swaps could be a major pain with the std wiring.

Well, the wiring is the same as a Dx. And dont mess with STDs, we have a lot to prove.
At my last auto-x this year I was as fast as a turbo Focus with a good suspension, so watch out! hehe
PL, still trying to find out why 70 hp compared to the 92 found in the Dx who has the same engine bay...

hey guys have u ever looked at our stock exhaust thats wut sets it apart from the dx the exhasut is so small i couldnt fit my little finger in there and the cat is on the header its the same engine as the dx anyway the si mpfi makes a huge difference and the std is lighter than all other hatches mine is an 88 witch was the lightest they made cause of the shitty safetyfeatures the rest of the hatches got after 88 so i lucked out i guess and watch out for them stds man they all arent slow
That's wierd. I'm positive that mine is a STD, but my cat is located in the normal place, and not on the header. When I looked at the manual, it also showed it on the header. But I have a '90, not an '88.
My engine code is D15B1, which is the 70 hp model, and it is only a 4-spd, so it is definitely a STD (not to mention the 18.89@70 I got out of it stock).
Mine also weighed 2,050 without the rear seats or spare, not too shabby for an AC, almost full interior car!!

STD 1.5L has a smaller cam, smaller exhaust, different ecu, and a restrictor plate under the TB.
I know, I just dropped in a DX motor into my base HB. On my 91 STD the cat is in a normal position under the car.

finally someone who agrees with me i said the cam had to be different but by changeing the ecu and manifold and exhaust u up the hp considerably making tons more power noone beleives me come bring ur stock si with an intake and rcae my *** weel see does ur stock si run mid 15s i dont think so like i said we did this to 2 cars not just mine and its proven 15.4 with a dx tranny in it an 15.7 with the si tranny it must be doing something right and we put the same setup in an hf with a dx d15b2 and it runs 15.6 weighs alittle more than the 88 std cause its a 91 hf
Hey, I agreed with you!
The key was to get the STD head and intake manifold stuff off of it!
I think I got the distributor I need lined up!!!
