Ok here is the setup i am running now:
Sony POS headunit
blaupunkt overdrive 5.25 Front
Infity kappa 5.25 rear
Infinty BasslinkX
In an 90 civic hatch

OK heres the questions: i am tryin to replace my cd player with something better, i was wondering what i should buy i want something cheap, with pretty minimal blingage(no bells/whistles), and that sounds good. I was looking at alpines decks, which look decent, or i was contemplating a Si CD player or s2000 cd player. Im on the fence...

What would you do?? thanks

aftermarket - the factory one's will have no power - the aftermarket one will allow you to cut the bass to the smaller, interior speakers and that will allow you to play them louder without distortion. Also, the installation of the basslink won't change - if you got a factory head, you would need some additional harnesses to hook it up and a line output converter.

you will find this board to favor Alpine heavily - Pioneer is also not a bad choice. I'd pick what fit your budget b/c when you run speakers of the internal amp, it really doesn't matter too much
