i paid like 80 dollars or maybe a little less for a passenger side axle. i replaced it myself in about 45 minutes. all you have to do is remove the 36mm axle nut, you will need a breaker bar and about a 3 foot pipe extension. then remove the 17mm bolt that attaches the shockfork through the LCA. then remove the cotter pin on the castle nut under the lower ball joint.remove the 17mm castle nut use a 2 jaw puller and pop the lower ball joint out. this tool was like $20 from advance auto parts. drain tranny fluid. then just have someone bang the old axle through the hub while you pull. (u dont have to have two people, i did it myself.) then use a prybar and pop the axle out of the tranny. then place new axle in, make sure you give it a firm push until it pops into place, then installation is reverse of removal.
the cheapest i found was 149.00 with labor..and thats with a life time warranty...i guess i could do it myself but i got a shortage of time on my hands...it should be done by friday...
