Default Is the older Profec B better than the Profec B Spec 2?

Maybe it was hooked up wrong, but a while back I tried to help a friend adjust his Spec 2 and it was a pain in the ***.

Last night I read through a shitload of posts on this forum and others. Some people love it and others hate it. Other than the need to use dip switches on the old one, it seems to cause people less problems than the Spec 2. Newer isn't always better.

I've found an older unused Spec 1 online, and was wondering if I should buy it or just get the Spec 2 and go through the usual headaches with the shitty Greddy instructions and help online. Opinions?

If you have problems working the spec 2, i dont think ANY EBC is for you. That thing is so ******* easy to install and work. Got mine all done in like 15 mins from running wires to setting it up for low and high boost.

Well, then his was obviously hooked up wrong (which I had no part in). Installed and programmed in 15 minutes? No ******* way, but thanks for the input. I guess you like it.

I've got the spec1. It's the only one I've ever had experience with. The reviews on the spec 1 said that the ***** are very sensative which I find contrary to mine. Also I still have a 1psi spike before leveling out. Still better than playing with the actuator IMO.

Thanks, I might as well get the new one. I had no idea that the spec 1 spiked.

What would you get for around $300? I don't think there is anything.

how the **** is it a pita. Wiring it is easy as hell, and getting the settings is a turn of the **** and pushing a button? I dont see how you guys are having issues with the spec 2. never had one issue and adjusting it is as hell. Maybe im just a mother ******* genius or something Id looking into the Apexi vacr or whatever its called again. its got gear boost control, which is nice for higher hp cars

its just a pain in the *** to get the settings right to hold boost solid. the instructions are wack. they call functions diff than on the boostcontroller. you must be a genious because ive talked to some of the smartest racers and tuners out there and they cant even figure the thing out.

Lol, then they shouldnt be racing.
I have a original profec b (which i havnt used yet, since my car isnt 100% finished)
and my buddy has a spec 2. My friend was able to figure it out in about 15 minutes
of driving around. The spec 2 is not hard to use. I guess some people just aren't
electronically inclined
