Default just blew my engine

Well the day started off good it felt like my car was running great on the way to the track its a 2 hour drive i was happy cause i was going to get to clock my turbo sohc for the first time.

It was $30 cause it was the day of the flow master cup, and the stupid tech guy was giving me crap about my batterie being zip tied down

On my first pass with a huge bog start i did a 14.90 witch was pritty good considering i had a .756 rt I am pritty sure that was was when my turbo blew and later on found out was starveing the engine for oil wich later blew my piston rings.

On the second pass I had a good solid launch but missed second hard and did an 18 we checked it out to see white smoke comeing out of the breather, and when i held my finger over it and let it go it would blow off loud.

I then found out my friend had dug out on me and left me so i had no one to follow me home and better yet i had my girlfriend with me the car ended up makeing it home alright but it was the worst 2 hour drive ever and also found out my turbo wouldn't put out any boost at all and the car would fill up with smoke
now and then
-20 gas
-30entry fee
haveing to change my hole bottom end and turbo
priceless

well that's great. BTW your reaction time has nothing to do with your ET. what engine are you running anyways? 14.9 is pretty weird for a turbo anything.

How much were you boosting and what caused the turbo to blow? What type of fuel management were you running?

For the price it'll cost to swap a b16 or b18 he can rebuild and beef up the engine that's in his car and rape b16 and b18 swapped cars.

Sucks man! Build that SOHC, tune it and have fun!

Actually reaction time has nothign to do with your ET. Your RT is measured by the time the light turns green untill the time you trip the timmer. You can have a 3 min RT but untill you trip the clock your time has not started yet. Basically you can have a long RT and still hit a low ET. Plus 60ft really measne nothing in a turbo car. Most of your time will be made up after the 1/8mile. just some info.

NO IT DIDN"T MATTER......reaction TIME HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH YOUR TIME!

so with the .785 ra you had and the 2.5 60 foot...that really means you ran a 1.7 60 foot time??? I DON"T FREAKING THINK SO!

so don't rip on someone if you have no idea what you are talking about!!

yeah R/T has nothing to do with your 60ft or your ETs. At least your engine isn't trerribly expensive that saves you a bunch, unless you wonna go with something better. How much boost where you running on that thing?

my car bogged hard when i launched and made my 60ft time real bad, and the seals on the turbo were going witch caused it to leak into everything and burn my rings.

Thinking about geting those grand vitara pistons and running a t3/t4

bummer man,

one of those "if only" situations..
like "if only you had an oil pressure gauge!"

but yo, 14.9's not bad,
how much boost,
any 14's sohc is swell, when its 1st try under the shittiest of conditions.

rebuild that motor with some stronger rods, tune it right, and run 10lbs you'll be faaast

what's the problem with internal wastegate? for you 7psi it won't matter that much. Those times are pretty horrible, I wouldn't be suprised your engine decided to kick the legs back few weeks before you went to the track.

buy a friggin open mind man.

if he had a b16 it STILL would have blown.

wtf do you think cuz their internals are alittle tougher and they start off with hp n/a that its going to stand up to complete oil starvation???
