Default Decreasing Cabin noise-- Any thoughts?

Alright guys-- I'm looking to seriously decrease the in-cabin noise of my car. Call me a ***** or whatever, but having a 3" exhaust and no rear interior makes it decently loud. I don't like having my seats in, because I just like the way it looks--and it doesn't make a difference when it comes to the sound. What I was wondering-- if I lined the whole trunk area w/ dynamat would this help decrease the sound enough? I don't want to spend all kinds of work on the trunk just for it to be super loud still. Any ideas on the situation?? Weight isn't really a big deal.

It would help some, but it's not going to make a dramatic difference...or at least enough difference for it to be worth the $$ for the dynamat.

Buy a lexus, puss

I stuffed fiberglass insulation between the rear body panels and skin. Made a difference for 10 bucks.

Buy my pirate cripplers.

Honestly man, if you do dynomat on a car that doesn't have rear seats..........that's freakin gay.

No harm meant in that, but the seats and all that plastic does help absorb sound.

If you have to keep the seats in, and wieght doesn't matter, just do 3-4 layers of dynamat.

I have Dynamat Xtreme in my doors (outer skin and vapor barrier) and rear quarters. It definitely made a difference. Now I notice different noises. I need to cover the floor and firewall if I really want to make it quiet.

check to see if they have like a foam you can put on the bottom.. like that seal foam they use for window's.. that expanding foam.. then let it sit, get a saw blade, and shave off the top nice and smooth, and get a carpet.. and lay it down over, make it look nice and clean, ane level too.

or try the dynamat **** if you have enough in the piggy bank..

Turn your radio up or use a disc man with some headphones. You are driving a Honda, road noise in inevitable.

road noise is fine-- 3" exhaust sometimes on 2-3hr long drives is a bit tiresome.

the seats DO make a difference.

It only takes like 5 minutes to put them in and out. Put them in when you want, take them out when you want.

The only reason i take mine out sometimes is so i dont have to give people rides.

yeah, listen to these people. The seats make a huge difference. I had my rear seats out for awhile (my car is completely stock) and on the highway, conversation was nearly impossible. Now, it's still noisy but at least I can hear music and talk if someone else is in the car.

There was a thread wayyy back about a guy that took out the rear seats + all the rear/side panels, and dynomatted everything, and then STUFFED that foamy stuff between the metal n the panels, and it ended up sounding like a lexus in the end (so he says ). I believe it, I think I'm gonna do it as a project once I have some extra $.

Dynamat is crazy $$$ though, so go get a cheaper brand like Brown Bread.

Dynamat the front floor boards, the doors, and the spare tire well (if you can afford for the well). It makes a difference. I also sprayed this foaming spray that's paintable in my wheel wells. It's a black colored spray made by Duplicote.
